President Trump isn’t letting the latest barbs from George Conway go easily, with the president ripping the husband of White House advisor Kellyanne Conway as a “stone cold loser” who is “jealous of his wife’s success.”

In his public tweet-lashing came on Wednesday morning, Trump channeled his inner Richard Lewis by calling Conway the “husband from hell.”

The president also chided Conway for not getting a White House job he “desperately wanted.”

George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted. I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!

Conway simply retweeted Trump’s lambasting on Wednesday with the comment: “The President of the United States.”

The president’s response came after Conway criticized his wife’s boss once again on Monday, tweeting that Trump’s mental state is “getting worse.” Conway included a definition of  “Narcissistic Personality Disorder,” which mentioned that the afflicted are “preoccupied with fantasies.”

“Don’t assume that the things he says and does are part of a rational plan or strategy, because they seldom are. Consider them as a product of his pathologies, and they make perfect sense,” Conway added.

The episode that set-off the POTUS’ Twitter rant was Saturday night’s rerun of the 2018 Christmas episode in which the cold open — titled “It’s a Wonderful Trump” — shows Alec Baldwin as Trump getting his wish that he had never become president, while people like the first lady and Kellyanne Conway live happier lives as a result.

Trump, himself a previous ‘SNL’ host in 2004 and 2015, was similarly incensed the first time he saw the skit in December, tweeting the next day, “A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live. It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?”

George Conway, husband of White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, spent much of Sunday and Monday morning tweeting his concern about President Trump’s mental health — with the attorney even playing doctor for a moment by giving his own diagnosis of the president.

Conway tweeted on Monday that all Americans should be “thinking seriously” about the president’s “mental condition and psychological state.” Minutes earlier, Conway had tweeted a definition of “Narcissistic Personality Disorder,” which mentioned that the afflicted are “preoccupied with fantasies.”

“Don’t assume that the things he says and does are part of a rational plan or strategy, because they seldom are. Consider them as a product of his pathologies, and they make perfect sense,” Conway added.

Conway’s Monday morning tweets continued a theme he touched on several times on Sunday,  after Trump made a number of eyebrow-raising comments — including threatening to have the FCC look into “Saturday Night Live” for mocking him.

“Should Federal Election Commission and/or FCC look into this?” Trump tweet. “There must be Collusion with the Democrats and, of course, Russia! Such one sided [sic] media coverage, most of it Fake News. Hard to believe I won and am winning. Approval Rating 52%, 93% with Republicans. Sorry! #MAGA”

“His condition is getting worse,” Conway tweeted on Sunday morning. He later pinned the tweet to the top of his account, which has 379,000 followers.

Conway also retweeted several accounts calling into question the president’s mental state. He retweeted conservative commentator Bill Kristol, who said his “fellow Republicans” would be “refusing to come to grips with Trump’s mental condition and psychological state” if they ignored his Sunday tweets.

Re-upping this in light of Trump’s retweets in the last hour. And I repeat: Fellow Republicans, read today’s tweets and retweets. Don’t avert your eyes. Averting your eyes is refusing to come to grips with Trump’s mental condition and psychological state. It’s avoiding reality. https://t.co/PCNzhCD0ql

Then Axios reported that in a closed-door meeting on Friday, Trump told a group of Republican donors that he actually said “Tim Cook Apple” very quickly, “and the ‘Cook’ part of the sentence was soft. Dinesh D’Souza Says Trump Should ‘Send in the National Guard’ to Protect Speech at Colleges

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

Right wing author Dinesh D’Souza said President Trump might need to consider sending in the national guard to protect free speech on college campuses — adding that a promised executive order may not be enough to address the issue.

“Let’s remember Berkeley is a state university, it’s fully accountable to the First Amendment and the First Amendment is not less valuable than say the 14th Amendment, which protects civil rights,” D’Souza said during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

“So if I were Trump, I would consider — in extreme circumstances — sending in the national guard because sending in force to protect basic constitutional rights is actually an appropriate use of force,” he said.

D’Souza added that instances of conservatives backing down to campus pressure, like when former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice pulled out of a 2014 speech at Rutgers University, ultimately only emboldened anti-free speech activists.

Though it invites a thorny slew of state’s rights issues, the president can federalize and take control of a state national guard, George Mason University law professor Tim MacArthur told NPR last year.

Past examples have included President Dwight Eisenhower in 1957 when he ordered the Arkansas national guard to integrate schools in Little Rock and George H.W. Bush, who sent the California national guard to assist with riot control after the Rodney King verdict. Presidents Obama and Bush Jr. both also employed national guard troops during their presidencies.

D’Souza, a longtime conservative critic, has risen to new prominence with his strong embrace of President Trump, his most recent documentary openly compared the billionaire to Abraham Lincoln. Trump returned the favor by giving D’Souza a full pardon for a 2014 conviction on felony campaign finance violations.

Stormy Daniels’ Lawsuit Against Trump Over Nondisclosure Agreement Tossed by Judge

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

A lawsuit brought against President Donald Trump by adult-film performer Stormy Daniels was tossed by a judge on Thursday, the Associated Press reports.

According to the Associated Press, the suit, which hoped to nullify a nondisclosure agreement Daniels had entered into, was found to be moot by U.S. District Judge S. James Otero because Trump and his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, had previously agreed not to hold Daniels responsible for breaching the agreement. In essence, granting Daniels’ wish.

Daniels contended that the agreement, entered into shortly before the 2016 presidential election, should be deemed invalid because Trump never signed it.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, maintained that she had an affair with Trump in 2006, a claim that Trump has denied. Cohen arranged for Daniels to receive $130,000 to keep quiet about her story.

Trump and Cohen said they would not seek penalties from Daniels when they sought to have her suit dismissed, the AP reported.

Judge Otero sent the case back to Los Angeles Superior Court, noting that Daniels may be able to recuperate legal fees, according to the Associated Press.

Attorneys for both sides claimed victory from Thursday’s decision, with Trump attorney Charles Harder saying that the decision — coupled with Otero’s previous order that Daniels reimburse the president $293,000 in legal fees stemming from her defamation suit against Trump, which was dismissed — constituted a “total victory” for his client, according to the AP.

Meanwhile, Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, tweeted Thursday afternoon, “Yet again, lots of misreporting going on. Be clear: The Court specifically found that Stormy received everything she asked for in the lawsuit – she won. How people can claim this is a “loss” after we forced Trump and Cohen to cave and Cohen has been convicted, etc. is a mystery.”

Stone also faced scrutiny over the publication of a book in which Stone provides a defense for himself, the Times reported. Stone was also criticized for posting an image on Instagram that appeared to show Jackson with the crosshairs of a rifle scope next to her, the Times reported.

Donald Trump Calls Out Washington Post Reporter, Defends Inauguration Crowd Size

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

President Donald Trump called out the Washington Post and one of its political reporters, Dave Weigel, berating them both for an incident in December 2017 in which Weigel tweeted a misleading image of the crowd at a Trump rally.

“He got there four hours early. He then sent out a note — something to the effect of not very good crowd size — I never saw it. I don’t follow the guy,” Trump told a cheering crowd at the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland.

“He got there four or five hours early,” Trump continued, “He took pictures and you know who really got even? Our people, because they were incensed. I don’t think we’ve had an empty seat since we announced [my candidacy].”

Weigel did not immediately respond to request for comment from TheWrap, while the Washington Post declined to make a statement.

“I thought he was going to get fired,” Trump went on. “If that was a conservative, he would have been fired on the spot. He would have been humiliated for what they did. It was fake news.”

The original incident took place after Weigel tweeted a sparsely populated image of a Trump rally in Pensacola, Florida, which Trump had described in his remarks as “packed to the rafters.” Weigel put the quote alongside images of the half empty stadium to suggest Trump had been misleading people.

“.@DaveWeigel @WashingtonPost put out a phony photo of an empty arena hours before I arrived @ the venue, w/ thousands of people outside, on their way in,” Trump tweeted at the time. “Real photos now shown as I spoke. Packed house, many people unable to get in. Demand apology & retraction from FAKE NEWS WaPo!”

Weigel walked the tweet back at the time, saying it was only live briefly and hadn’t been a fully reported article for the paper.

“It was a bad tweet on my personal account, not a story for Washington Post. I deleted it after like 20 minutes. Very fair to call me out,” he said. Trump continued the beef, however, publicly demanding that the Post fire Weigel over the tweet — which they declined to do.

During his CPAC remarks, the president also defended his crowd sizes more broadly, including his much-discussed 2016 inaugurations crowds — suggesting that they too had been deliberately deflated by the media.

The president immediately added Kim was “pretty mercurial” —  but that he didn’t “say that necessarily in a bad way.”

Trump’s comments follow his trip to Vietnam for a second in-person meeting with Kim. Talks of nuclear disarmament, according to The New York Times on Thursday, fizzled out over a disagreement on lifting stiff sanctions on North Korea.

“It was about the sanctions,” Trump said. “Basically they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety, but we couldn’t do that.”

National Review’s Jonah Goldberg and Former Weekly Standard Editor-in-Chief Launch New Conservative Media Company

National Review senior editor Jonah Goldberg and former The Weekly Standard editor-in-chief Steve Hayes are joining together to launch a new conservative media company, Axios reported on Thursday morning.

Goldberg and Hayes are currently seeking investors for the company, which will start a newsletter this summer and debut its website in September. The still-unnamed venture will be “Trump-skeptical,” according to Axios, and emphasize reporting-driven content.

“We believe there’s a great appetite on the center-right for an independent conservative media company that resists partisan boosterism and combines a focus on old-school reporting with interesting and provocative commentary and analysis,” Hayes told Axios.

The new company comes only months after The Weekly Standard, the conservative magazine founded by Bill Kristol in 1995, shut down in December.

Shadows had loomed over the Standard, which defied other conservative media outlets by taking a consistently anti-Trump stance since the 2016 election, with questions about the Standard’s financial health as well as plans for Clarity, its parent company, to expand its more pro-Trump outlet The Washington Examiner to include a weekly magazine of its own.

Goldberg himself has been one of the most vocal anti-Trump conservative voices in the media since 2016. “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert even issued a public apology to Goldberg last August after mistakenly calling Goldberg a “Trump ally.” Goldberg is expected to continue as a fellow at the National Review Institute after founding the new company.

Trump Says He Doesn’t Think Kim Jong-un Knew About American Student Otto Warmbier’s ‘Really Bad’ Treatment

President Trump on Thursday said he doesn’t believe North Korean leader Kim Jong-un knew about the treatment of American student Otto Warmbier, adding that Kim “felt very badly about” Warmbier’s death shortly after being returned to the U.S.

The president’s comments came during a press conference in Hanoi, as part of his trip to Vietnam to meet with Kim.

“I really believe something very bad happened to [Warmbier], and I don’t think that the top leadership know about it,” Trump said. “I don’t believe that [Kim] would’ve allowed that to happen. Just wasn’t to his advantage to allow that to happen.”

Trump added: “Those prisons are rough. They’re rough places, and bad things happened. But … I don’t believe [Kim] knew about it.”

Trump added that “some really bad things happened to Otto. Some really, really bad things.”

President Trump on Otto Warmbier: “I really believe something very bad happened to him, and I don’t think that the top leadership knew about it…(Kim Jong-Un) felt very badly about it…He tells me that he didn’t know about it, and I will take him at his word.” pic.twitter.com/EWnw7BzVNe

Warmbier was a University of Virginia student who was charged with stealing a North Korean propaganda poster early on New Year’s Day 2016 — setting off an international firestorm in the process. He was imprisoned and sentenced to 15 years hard labor by the North Korean government after issuing a televised, tear-filled apology. Warmbier was returned to the U.S. in a comatose state in June 2017 and died shortly after. Warmbier’s father said his son was “brutalized and terrorized” by the North Korean regime while imprisoned.

Trump acknowledged Warmbier was returned to the U.S. in “terrible” shape, but that other prisoners released by North Korea were “extremely healthy,” leading him to believe Kim was unaware of the 22-year-old’s treatment.

Jim Carrey Goes Nuclear on Trump Over North Korea in Latest Political Artwork

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

Jim Carrey ponied up another Trump-thumping artwork on Wednesday morning — and it was quite the eye-opening image.

In Carrey’s latest political piece, the actor-artist depicted North Korean leader Kim Jong Un riding on Trump’s back, as the president was hunched over with a bit in his mouth.

Carrey offered further commentary in a message stating that any nuclear deal that Trump might strike with North Korea would be a “fraud,” and that Trump deserves “a Nobel Prize for cowardice and moral desolation.”

“If Trump makes a nuclear deal w/ North Korea, it’s a FRAUD: China and Russia trying to keep their Prize Pony in the White House,” Carrey wrote.

“When there’s a Nobel Prize for cowardice and moral desolation Trump will be the first to receive it,” he continued.

Earlier this week, ahead of a summit with Kim, Trump said that North Korea could benefit economically without nuclear weapons.

“Chairman Kim realizes, perhaps better than anyone else, that without nuclear weapons, his country could fast become one of the great economic powers anywhere in the World. Because of its location and people (and him), it has more potential for rapid growth than any other nation!” Trump tweeted.

In another tweet, Trump wrote, “I will be leaving for Hanoi, Vietnam, early tomorrow for a Summit with Kim Jong Un of North Korea, where we both expect a continuation of the progress made at first Summit in Singapore. Denuclearization?”

Very productive talks yesterday with China on Trade. Will continue today! I will be leaving for Hanoi, Vietnam, early tomorrow for a Summit with Kim Jong Un of North Korea, where we both expect a continuation of the progress made at first Summit in Singapore. Denuclearization?

Clearly, Carrey doesn’t think Trump’s plan is the bomb.
