Ex-Sony PR Exec Jean Guerin Joins Fox Broadcasting Company

Jean Guerin was named executive vice president of publicity & corporate communications at the Fox Broadcasting Company Monday, barely an hour after she exited a senior publicity post at Sony.

At Fox, she will be the chief media strategist where she will oversee all program publicity and report to Shannon Ryan, chief marketing officer of Fox Television Group.

“Jean is a gifted strategist and one of the most respected communications executives in television and film,” said Ryan in a statement. “Her extensive experience, combined with her keen knowledge of the business, makes her the perfect fit for FOX, and we can’t wait for her to join our talented publicity team.”

On Monday, Sony announced that Tahra Grant would be replacing Guerin as SVP of Media Relations at the Motion Picture Group. Guerin joined the studio in 2014 and oversaw all global communications for the company’s film divisions including Columbia, TriStar, Sony Pictures Animation, Screen Gems, and Sony Pictures Animation.

Prior to Sony, Guerin spent 14 years at NBC Universal, most recently as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for NBCU Cable Entertainment Group. There, she oversaw corporate communications, brand positioning and media oversight for the company’s 11 major cable entertainment and lifestyle networks including USA, Bravo, E!, Oxygen and Esquire.

From 2004 to 2012, Guerin served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for USA Network where she ran all media oversight and brand leadership and also launched USA’s first ever branding campaign titled Characters Welcome. She joined NBCUniversal in 2000 as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Syfy Network. Guerin began her career at PMK in New York.
