Nick Cannon Stands Up for Kevin Hart by Posting Homophobic Tweets From Schumer, Silverman

Cannon is wondering why Hart received so much backlash while other comics who have made homophobic jokes continue to find success.

Nick Cannon is sticking up for Kevin Hart after the comedian stepped down from hosting the 2019 Academy Awards. Hart was announced as Oscars host on December 4, but soon afterward controversial jokes featuring LGBTQ slurs from Hart’s past began to resurface. After initially refusing to apologize, Hart eventually said he was sorry and confirmed he would not be hosting as to “not be a distraction” to the show at large.

Cannon showed support for Hart on Twitter by re-posting old tweets from female comics Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, and Chelsea Handler that, similar to Hart, feature LGBTQ slurs and derogatory terms. Cannon noted he’s a fan of Silverman’s “Wreck-It Ralph” franchise despite the fact she once tweeted in 2010, “I dont mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette’s a f*g.”

A 2012 tweet from Amy Schumer read, “Enjoy ‘Skyfall’ f*gs. I’m about to get knee deep in Helen Hunt #TheSessions.” Cannon also re-posted a 2010 tweet from Handler that said, “This is what a f*g bird looks like when he flexes.”

Cannon’s re-posts were not designed to drag the female comics but to question why so much backlash was given to Hart when homophobic jokes have been made for some time by comics both male and female. Cannon’s overall point seems to be that comics should not have to be silent or politically correct in their jokes.

“You know I’ve been saying fucked up shit since twitter started!” Cannon replied to one fan. “I don’t play that politically correct bullshit! Fuck politics!! Only Truth!”

Cannon originally celebrated Hart’s hosting announcement on Instagram, saying he “couldn’t be happier” for Hart. “Real talk my bro deserves every bit of what God is blessing him with,” Cannon said. “The hardest working, kindest, and most genuine dude in the business.”

The Academy has yet to announce Hart’s replacement.

As the dramatic saga involving Kevin Hart stepping down as Oscars host after old homophobic tweets resurfaced, Nick Cannon has decided to come to the defense actor-comedian by posting tweets containing homophobic language from comedians Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman, and Amy Schumer. In a string of tweets, Cannon called out the female comedians for their past homophobic tweets. In a past tweet from Handler she used the term “fag bird” and Cannon commented, “Interesting…

Nick Cannon Blasts Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman Over Old Homophobic Tweets

Nick Cannon is calling out Hollywood for what he says is a blatant double standard following Kevin Hart’s Oscars resignation, retweeting old jokes by three female white comedians — Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler — in which they used homophobic language.

Cannon shared a 2010 tweet from Handler that included anti-gay slurs, telling his followers, “Interesting, I wonder if there was any backlash here…”

He also posted another 2010 tweet by Silverman in which she called the new “Bachelorette” a gay slur, as well as a tweet from Schumer from 2012 in which she used a homophobic term, along with the caption, “I’m just saying… should we keep going???”

When a Twitter user suggested that perhaps Cannon should “audit” his own social media feed, he responded: “Nope!! You know I’ve been saying f–ed up s–t since twitter started! I don’t play that politically correct bulls–t! F–k politics!! Only Truth!”

The posts come a day after old homophobic tweets of Hart’s resurfaced, and he was forced to step down from hosting the 2019 Academy Awards.

Hart drew ire after scrubbing his social media feeds from dozens of old tweets in which he used anti-gay slurs, including one where he seemed to advocate violence against his own son should he exhibit gay tendencies.

“Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay,” he wrote in 2011.

Last year, Cannon stepped down as host of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” after backlash over racially charged jokes about the network in his Showtime special.

And in 2014, Cannon also came under fire for posting a photo of himself wearing whiteface to promote his latest album.

“To me, this was to have fun,” he added. “Yes we have issues with race in this country, this world, but it doesn’t have to be with hatred. There’s a big difference between humor and hatred.”

Amy Schumer Shares Puking Video as She Postpones More Shows

Looks like Amy Schumer is gonna have to take a sick day or two. Some of you might have to by the end of this post, too.

The pregnant “Trainwreck” star Schumer hit up Instagram on Tuesday night to announce that she’s postponing more tour dates — and to share video evidence of the illness causing the postponement.

In an Instagram post featuring the video, Schumer first cautioned visitors, “Turn sound off if you have a week stomach.”

Schumer continued, “This was my ride to my show at @tarrytownmusichall tonight and a picture from the end of my set.”

The video itself featured Schumer — who earlier this month announced that she had to postpone shows in Texas after being hospitalized with a pregnancy-related condition — traveling in a car, leaning over a cup as she heaved and wretched.

” I love doing stand-up more than anything and I hate cancelling shows. I have to postpone some until I feel human again,” Schumer wrote. “But i will make up these dates and we will have a great time. I’m so proud of my stand up right now and can’t wait to share it. Thanks to the amazing crowd tonight for being so warm and such great laughers and for being cool with my sweatpants and slippers on stage.”

Despite being ill enough to cause her to postpone tour dates, Schumer also managed to get a dig in at Cindy Hyde-Smith, who defeated her opponent Mike Espy in a runoff election for a Senate seat representing Mississippi on Tuesday night.

“But I guess what I’m really saying is F— Hyde-Smith and anyone who voted for her. My feelings on her are best expressed by the above video,” Schumer continued. “And I don’t usually agree with speaking ill of crackheads, but she has a crackhead looking mouth. Tiny racist teeth confederate ass campaign with her crack mouth said she would attend a public hanging.”

Way to, uh, spill your guts, Amy.

Amy Schumer has made an unexpected stop on her current tour — at the hospital.

“Trainwreck” star Schumer, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer, shared on her Instagram account Thursday that she has to reschedule upcoming shows in Texas because she’s been hospitalized with a pregnancy-related condition.

Sharing a photo of herself in a hospital bed, Schumer wrote, “Texas I am so deeply sorry. I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule. I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester.”

Schumer continued, “I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bulls—!”

Per Web MD, hyperemesis gravidarum is a condition suffered by fewer than three percent of pregnant women.

“When you have hyperemesis gravidarum, you vomit a lot, sometimes almost constantly. This can lead to problems like dehydration and weight loss,” Web MD notes.

Schumer concluded, “Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell! And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.”

According to Schumer’s tour schedule, her next date will be on Nov. 17 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.

Schumer has been well-acquainted with the hospital this year. In April, she said that she had spent multiple days in the hospital being treated for a “horrible kidney infection,” noting that the illness caused her to miss the opening of her film “I Feel Pretty.”

Amy Schumer Boycotts Starring in Super Bowl Ads in Support of Colin Kaepernick, Encourages White Athletes to Protest

Schumer hopes Maroon 5 will follow Rihanna’s lead and drop out of performing during the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.

Amy Schumer spoke out against the National Football League in a social media post announcing she will not take part in any “Super Bowl” commercials next year in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. The former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers is famous for protesting the mistreatment of black people in America by kneeling during the National Anthem. Kaepernick has been a free agent since March 2017 and has filed a lawsuit against the NFL, accusing the organization of colluding to keep him off the field because of his protest.

“I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year,” Schumer wrote. “I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all I got. Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the NFL is like opposing the NRA. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living? Stand up for your brothers and sisters of color. And the hottest thing a guy can do is get down on one knee. Not to propose but to reject the treatment of his teammates by this country.”

Schumer began the announcement by wondering why more white athletes aren’t kneeling during the National Anthem. The comedian wrote, “Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the police brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers? Otherwise how are you not complicit?”

Following reports last week that Rihanna rejected performing during the Super Bowl halftime show in solidarity with Kaepernick, Schumer encouraged Maroon 5 to do the same. Schumer most recently starred in the comedy “I Feel Pretty,” which opened in theaters earlier this year, and she had a brief run on Broadway in Steve Martin’s play “Meteor Shower,” which earned her a Tony nomination for best actress in a play.

Kaepernick began kneeling during the National Anthem before NFL games during the 2016 season as a means of raising awareness, and protesting racial inequality in America and the shooting deaths of unarmed black men, women and children by police officers.

The number of NFL players taking up the protest and kneeling during the anthem has dwindled as the league has attempted to curtail the issue.

The protests created a firestorm in the media and among football fans. President Donald Trump made the protests one of his main issues on Twitter, saying that players who kneel during the National Anthem should be fired.

Schumer also said it “would be cool” if Maroon 5 pulled out of performing in the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show and noted that she told her reps she wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year.

“I know it must sound like a privilege a– sacrifice but it’s all I got,” Schumer wrote. “Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the NFL is like opposing the NRA. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living? Stand up for your brothers and sisters of color.”
