Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports 2019: Steph Curry, Alex Morgan Lead Winners List
Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, Alex Morgan of the World Cup-winning U.S. women’s national soccer team, snowboarder Chloe Kim and golfer Tiger Woods were among the winners of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports 2019 awards.
The event, taped live Thursday night in Santa Monica for broadcast next month, was hosted by former Super Bowl champion and two-time Emmy Award winner Michael Strahan.
Overall, Curry and Morgan were by far the night’s biggest winners. Curry won four Kids’ Choice Sports trophies: Favorite Male Athlete, Clutch Player of the Year, Nothing But Net, and Favorite Basketball Player. And Morgan won three: Favorite Female Athlete, Sickest Moves, and Favorite Soccer Star.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the only other nominee to win more than once, taking home two prizes — Best Cannon and Favorite Football Player.
Meanwhile, 13-time NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade received the Legend Award and, as seen in the photo above, was subsequently doused in a river of gold slime while accepting the prize. And USWNT star Megan Rapinoe won the Generation Change Award.
Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports 2019 will air Saturday, Aug. 10, at 8 p.m. EDT and PDT as a simulcast on Nickelodeon, TeenNick and Nicktoons.
