Trump Rips ‘Fake News’ Washington Post, Denies Sexual Misconduct Accusation: ‘Never Happened!’

President Donald Trump ripped the Washington Post in a tweet on Tuesday, taking issue with the Post’s decision to run a story about Rachel Crooks, who accused Trump of sexual misconduct in 2006.

“A woman I don’t know and, to the best of my knowledge, never met, is on the FRONT PAGE of the Fake News Washington Post saying I kissed her (for two minutes yet) in the lobby of Trump Tower 12 years ago. Never happened!” Trump wrote.

“Who would do this in a public space with live security cameras running,” he added in a follow-up tweet. “Another False Accusation. Why doesn’t @washingtonpost report the story of the women taking money to make up stories about me? One had her home mortgage paid off. Only @FoxNews so reported…doesn’t fit the Mainstream Media narrative.”

Crooks is one of 19 women who have accused Donald Trump of sexual misconduct, an issue that became increasingly pertinent during the 2016 campaign and in the midst of the current #MeToo movement.

“It all happened at Trump Tower,” she told the Post. “He started kissing me on one cheek, then the other cheek. He was talking to me in between kisses, asking where I was from, or if I wanted to be a model. He wouldn’t let go of my hand, and then he went right in and started kissing me on the lips.”

Trump — as with all similar cases — has denied the accusations.

The second part of his tweeted rebuttal likely concerns a bombshell report by The Hill’s John Solomon, which revealed that civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom had offered money to women who came forward to accuse Trump during the 2016 campaign.

“Lisa Bloom’s efforts included offering to sell alleged victims’ stories to TV outlets in return for a commission for herself, arranging a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempting to secure a six-figure payment for another woman who ultimately declined to come forward after being offered as much as $750,000,” wrote Solomon.

The story was covered by right-wing media — including Fox News — but was mostly ignored by mainstream outlets.
