Nick Offerman: If Hillary Clinton Were a Man ‘This Election Would Be Over Already’
“Parks and Recreation” star Nick Offerman thinks that if Hillary Clinton were a man, this “election would be over already,” and he adds that voters are terrified to see a woman become president.
“I also think that if she were not a woman, we would not be in this boat,” the actor said in an interview with Esquire.
“And that’s another sad thing, that a large reason there’s so much anger and mistrust of her is because people are very reluctant to see the patriarchy topple. I am incredibly excited that the glass ceiling will be shattered. I mean, we’ve had our first black president and we’ll probably have our first woman president. And of course we’re going to go kicking and screaming as a nation into that, we would have it no other way.”
Offerman, who stars in the upcoming film “The Founder,” also believes that “we have nobody to blame but ourselves for this election.” Voting for Clinton is the only “sane,” “moral” and “logical” choice this term, he said, citing Donald Trump as a “failed casino” owner — “a spectacularly failed one.”
“I mean, I’m not a great political brain, but I definitely have a pretty simple take on politics that involves common decency,” he said. “It’s usually easy for me to vote because one party usually offends me by being indecent. And that usually has to do with taking away the rights of some group.”
The actor added, “there’s no logical or sane or moral choice to be made other than voting for Hillary Clinton.”
