Bob Saget Reunites With ‘AFV’ Producer for New ABC Clip Show

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

Bob Saget is headed back to ABC for another clip-style show, re-teaming with “America’s Funniest Home Videos” producer Vin Di Bona for the more adult-themed, “Videos After Dark.”

“Videos After Dark” will feature Saget offering his comedic take on old clips from the “AFV” team that were deemed too racy to air on the show, which ran on Sunday evenings. Saget hosted the first eight seasons of “AFV,” along with his starring role on ABC’s sitcom, “Full House.” Saget reprised his “Full House” character Danny Tanner on the Netflix revival, “Fuller House.”

Former “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” star Alfonso Ribeiro is the show’s current host, which was picked up for two more seasons on Monday.

“It is with a great sense of pride we look to our 30th and 31st-year pickup,” said Di Bona. “Our audience depends on us to deliver quality family programs, and we delight in the capacity to give the nation and the world at least one great belly laugh a week!”

Despite Saget’s early career on the two family friendly ABC series, he has become known more for his adult-oriented stand up comedy.

“‘AFV’ has been a fixture in households across America for decades, and we are so happy that this show still resonates,” said Rob Mills, senior VP, alternative late night & specials, ABC Entertainment. “And now the generation that grew up with the hilarious Bob Saget as the host of ‘AFV’ is old enough to stay up past 10 p.m. to see him on ‘Videos After Dark.’”

Comedy Central’s Bruce Willis Roast Lands More Viewers Than Roseanne, James Franco

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

“The Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis” drew 3.2 million total viewers across multiple Viacom platforms Sunday, which makes it more-watched than the roasts of Roseanne Barr (2012), James Franco (2013), Rob Lowe (2016), Bob Saget (2008) and Joan Rivers (2009).

Willis’ basic-cable thrashing did not top the respective audiences for Charlie Sheen (2011), Jeff Foxworthy (2005), Justin Bieber (2015), Pamela Anderson (2005), Larry the Cable Guy (2009), Flavor Flav (2007), William Shatner (2006), David Hasselhoff (2010), Donald Trump (2011) and Denis Leary (2003).

See how each of those did here.

Sunday’s all-in sum, which had the benefit of a simulcast and a re-air, brought in 17 percent more overall audience members than Lowe’s roast, which was the last one Comedy Central did. Among adults 18-49, last night’s special grew 21 percent from the “Code Black” star’s.

On Comedy Central alone, Willis performed 23 percent better in the advertiser-coveted demographic than Lowe had on Labor Day 2016.

The “Die Hard” star’s turn was big on social, as ad-supported cable’s top entertainment program on Twitter, with #BruceWillisRoast trending at the very top. The special reached 15 million people on Facebook.

Immediately after the “Roast of Bruce Willis” debut, the Season 3 start for “Jeff Ross Presents: Roast Battle” scored an all-time high of 810,000 viewers, up 63 percent compared to the prior season premiere and marking Comedy Central’s highest-rated season premiere of 2018.

14 Famous Philadelphia Eagles Fans From Bradley Cooper to Will Smith (Photos)

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

Super LII is just around the bend and, shocker, the New England Patriots will once again be representing the AFC. However, for only the third time in the Super Bowl era, the Philadelphia Eagles have prevailed over the NFC and will look to dethrone the greatest football dynasty in history. And they’ll be rooted for by all the rabid Eagles fans, including a few famous celebrities that are looking to make history.

Mike Trout

Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout is a die-hard fan of the Eagles. Not only did he show up at the NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings, he is also a season ticket holder.

Sylvester Stallone

A Philly legend for his portrayal of Rocky Balboa, Stallone has already picked the Eagles to win this year against Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Joe Biden

Former Vice President Biden tweeted his support in 2016 for then-rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, who was instrumental in helping the Eagles claim the division and conference championships this season. However, he may have cooled the feelings down somewhat after his wife also became enamored with the QB.

Bob Saget

This Philly native has but one dream: for his Eagles and his L.A. Kings to play each other in a mixed-sport grab bag. “You got your Kings coming off the ice, and you got your Eagles coming off the grass…they go into each other’s world…The Eagles are slipping because they’re on ice all of a sudden, the Kings are just trying to get across the lawn…None of it’s fair, that’s what’s so “Mad Max” about it.”

Maria Bello

Born six miles from Philadelphia, Maria Bello is not shy about making her Philly fandom known on social media.

Bradley Cooper

Not only did Cooper’s breakout performance in “Silver Linings Playbook” feature the actor as a die-hard Eagles fan, but the actor has been seen in owner Jeffrey Lurie’s box singing the Eagles fight song.

Kobe Bryant

Though he has been booed countless times when playing the 76ers, this Philadelphia native still holds a special place for his hometown teams. “I absolutely love Philadelphia and love those fans.”

Tina Fey

Fey is such an Eagles fan, she couldn’t resist injecting her love into her hit show “30 Rock.”

Will Smith

Smith is such an Eagles fan, he almost didn’t star in the drama “Concussion,” which revolved around a doctor trying to convince people of the medical dangers facing football players. “I was deeply conflicted,” he told Charlie Rose during an interview. “I grew up in Philadelphia with my Philadelphia Eagles…It’s a very inconvenient truth.”

Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson

Things could get frosty on the set of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” On one side, Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson for the Eagles. On the other, Charlie Day stands as a die-hard Patriots fan. Say it ain’t so, Charlie!

Questlove

Not only did the Roots founder perform at the NFC Championship wearing his Eagles gear, he immediately took to social media to celebrate the Eagles’ victory.

Ryan Phillippe

Growing up just thirty miles down I-95, Phillippe has revealed that most of his jerseys belong to ex-Eagles stars like DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy, but has a lot of hope for Carson Wentz. “I just bought my son a Carson Wentz for his 13th birthday,” the actor told Rich Eisen during an appearance on the sports radio host’s podcast in 2016.

Miles Teller

A fan of all Philly sports teams, Teller has described having no Super Bowl wins as “frustrating,” but is enjoying life now after his Eagles earned the NFC Championship.

Pink

Already on board for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the Grammy-winning singer was ecstatic to find out her hometown team had made it to the championship. “Ummm. I’m singing the national anthem and the EAGLES ARE PLAYING?!?!?!”

Bill Maher Mocks Al Franken Groping Photo With Bob Saget’s Help

Read on: Deadline.

Bill Maher, with the help of an apparently sleeping Bob Saget, decided to have a little fun mocking the now-infamous photo of Al Franken groping a woman on a plane.
The host of HBO’s Real Time tweeted the staged pic overnight, indicating that it took place during a New Year’s Eve trip to Hawaii. “These New Years Hawaii trips are getting weird – Saget, forgive me!” Maher wrote.

Bill Maher Catches Heat for Reenacting Al Franken Grope Photo

Obviously, not everyone is grabbed by Bill Maher’s sense of humor.

“Real Time” host Maher caught heat on Twitter on Thursday, after reenacting the now-infamous photo of Al Franken seeming to grope Leeann Tweeden’s breasts, which helped to usher Franken’s exit from the U.S. Senate.

The reenactment was made even more bizarre by the target of Maher’s mitts — comedian Bob Saget, who appeared to be dozing in an airplane seat as Maher made his move.

“These New Years Hawaii trips are getting weird – Saget, forgive me!” Maher captioned the image, which closely approximated the Franken-Tweeden image.

While Maher had some supporters in the comments section of the tweet — and more than a few people lamenting that Franken had stepped down from the Senate — a number of responders felt that Maher’s attempt at humor was too much of a reach.

“It’s not funny,” read one terse response.

“Jokes about sexual misconduct are: easy, not funny, offensive,” read another reply.

“Are you mocking Sen. Franken and the victim?” another unsatisfied customer asked. “Not cool.”

“That’s not even funny. Get a new job,” read another assessment.

“This isn’t funny. Franken who was extremely important to the senate & American values & had to resign. This is awful,” read another response.

Franken announced that he was stepping down as a senator representing Minnesota in December, after radio host Tweeden wrote that the comedian groped and forcibly kissed her while the two were on tour with the USO in 2003. Six more women came out and accused Franken of misconduct in the weeks after Tweeden’s accusation.

Jodie Sweetin Has Never Seen an Entire Episode of ‘Full House’

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

Jodie Sweetin has been known as Stephanie Tanner from “Full House” pretty much her whole life — but the actress herself says she’s never seen an entire episode of the iconic show.

“I have to be honest. I don’t know that I’ve ever watched an entire episode of ‘Full House.’ Not sat down for an entire episode,” she said at the PaleyFest Fall TV Preview in Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday night, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“Now, I don’t have a TV,” she explained. “I have like Netflix and HBO GO, but I don’t have regular TV, so it’s never on in my house. My kids watch it, like at their dad’s house, or on the iPads. But I don’t know that I’ve ever watched it. I watch clips.”

‘How I Met Your Mother’ Spinoff From Woman’s Perspective Back in the Works

Read on: TheWrapTheWrap.

A spinoff of “How I Met Your Mother” is back on, TheWrap has confirmed.

“How I Met Your Father” will follow a new cast of characters and will be told from a woman’s perspective, but will follow the same format as the popular CBS sitcom that starred Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel, and Neil Patrick Harris.

“This Is Us” co-executive producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will write the series and executive produce. “HIMYM” creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will also executive produce. 20th Century Fox Television, where Aptaker and Berger have an overall deal, will produce.

Aptaker and Berger are represented by Verve, Management 360 and Hansen Jacobson. Bays and Thomas are represented by UTA.

Previously Bays, Thomas, and Emily Spivey tried to launch a spinoff of the original series entitled “How I Met Your Dad.”

That version would have followed Sally (Greta Gerwig) on the journey of how she met her husband. Meg Ryan would have served as the narrator just as Bob Saget did on the original show. However, CBS decided not to move forward with the series, citing “issues with the pilot.”

Most recently, Bays and Thomas landed a pilot production commitment for a new series based on the comedy of Chris Distefano, who will serve as an executive producer and co-writer.
