A former lover of “Glee” star Mark Salling has filed papers against the actor’s estate, stating that she’s owed money from a lawsuit settlement with him.
In the papers, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Roxanne Gorzela says that she’s a creditor to the estate, because “I have a civil judgment in Los Angeles County … in the amount of $2,710,155.28.”
“Assets of the estate are currently undetermined,” the court papers also state. “Petitioner requests that any assets be placed in a blocked account when marshalled.”
As TMZ reported at the time, Salling, who took his own life in January as he awaited sentencing on a child pornography case, and Gorzela reached a $2.7 million settlement in 2015, stemming from a lawsuit filed by Gorzela against Salling in 2013.
According to TMZ, Gorzela said that she had been dating Salling. Gorzela said that during a 2011 encounter with Salling she agreed to have sex, but only with a condom. However, the suit alleged, Salling inserted “his penis into [her] vagina without a condom.”
According to the New York Daily News, Salling subsequently filed papers stating that Gorzela “voluntarily placed herself in a position of danger and exposure to such injuries and damages, if any.”
Salling took his own life in January, after pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office determined that Salling, 35, died of asphyxia by hanging, deeming the manner of his death to be suicide.
Salling, who played Noah “Puck” Puckerman’ on the Fox series, was scheduled to be sentenced in March. Under his plea agreement, the parties agreed that a four to seven-year prison sentence would be appropriate.
